It is exciting to hear that the Uganda Wildlife Authority improved in its ways by coming up with the in-plant payment machine, adding two more gorilla groups to the booking system, and giving clarity on golden cat tracking.
Below is a breakdown of these operational changes.
The In-Plant Payment Machine for Easy Banking
You no longer have to move from bank to bank to settle your cash payments. UWA has established an in-plant payment machine right at its reservation center to make payment for its services easy.
The facility operates from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on weekdays and on Saturdays (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM).
Your permits and other services will be worked on after the funds have been reflected in our bank account. This normally takes about 24 hours.
Meet the Happy and Nshanjare Gorilla Groups
It’s good news to primate lovers as two more habituated groups have been officially added to the tracking roster, increasing the number of available permits in key sectors.
These gorilla groups are the Happy Group in the popular Buhoma Sector and the Nshanjare Group in the rugged Rushaga Sector.
With these new additions, UWA will no longer issue extra gorilla permits. The daily limit is now strictly enforced; you must check real-time availability in the system and secure your spots early to avoid disappointment.
African Golden Cat Tracking
UWA opened up an interesting activity of tracking for the elusive African golden cat in the Kanyanchu region (along Ngogo Road) in Kibale Forest National Park.
It is a deep-forest journey designed for those who want an immersive tracking experience rather than a standard day trek.
The 5-days golden tracking expedition costs $350 USD per person for foreign non-residents and foreign residents, and UGX 350,000 for East African citizens.
All bookings for this experience are done manually because it is not yet available on the digital platform portal.
With these exciting new improvements, booking your dream Uganda safari is now easier than ever. Just choose your dates, pick your perfect itinerary, and get ready for an unforgettable adventure in Uganda effortlessly.
