How Gorilla Families Are Allocated

Gorilla families to trek in Rwanda are allocated depending on the personal characteristics like age, physical fitness and interests.

The gorilla families to trek are allocated during the briefing exercise where the gorilla safari undertakers who are adventurous and still strong are allocated hard to trek gorilla families while the elderly and travelers that are not physically fit are allocated to gorilla families that are easier to trek.

For the case of Uganda, the gorilla trekkers are allocated in respective regions where different gorilla families dwell.

The allocation is based on first come first serve regardless of the personal characteristics like age, physical fitness and other variables.
