Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi – The Home of Half of The World’s Surviving Mountain Gorillas
After breakfast, take a southwestward drive for 8 – 10 hours journey to Bwindi National park. Make a stop at the equator crossing at Kayabwe for photo shooting and water tests.
Have Lunch en route at Igongo cultural center 12 km before Mbarara town. Proceed with your journey to Bwindi amidst the scenic offerings of Kabale highlands- the Switzer land of Africa.
Accommodation at Gorilla Forest Camp (Up market/ Luxury), Silverback Lodge (Midrange/standard) or Buhoma community bandas (Budget/ basic).
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in The Mist & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up early in the morning for a warm cup of coffee before you gather at the park headquarters to be briefed on how to track gorillas at 08:00 hours.
Embark on the gorilla tracking/trekking expedition in the forest of Bwindi which can stretch between 2 – 8 hours. Have one hour encounter with them before descending down the rugged terrain of Bwindi.
Do not forget to carry your packed lunch as the activity could stretch longer than expected. After tracking the Mountain Gorillas, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi for a wonderful visit to the second deepest in Africa (Lake Bunyonyi) to see unique communities and magical scenic views of Uganda and sun downer on one of the highest hills in this area with amazing views.
